Dr. Barry Heineke graduated from The Ohio State University in 1982. After practicing in small animal practices in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati, He established his practice in Alexandria in 1989. His interests include animal ophthalmology, dentistry, ophthalmology, and dermatology, as well as exotic medicine and surgery for rabbits, hamsters, small birds, ferrets, and reptiles. He is a graduate of Campbell County High School and Northern Kentucky University. He loves the outdoors, physical fitness, and has become an avid golfer with his sons, Nick and Brandon.
Dr. Brandon Heineke
Dr. Brandon graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2016.
Ever since he could walk, he wanted to follow his father’s footsteps as a veterinarian. He is a 2008 graduate of Bishop Brossart High School and a 2012 graduate of Northern Kentucky University. He has special interest in internal medicine, surgery, dermatology and dentistry. To him, being a veterinarian isn’t a job, it’s a life commitment to animals in need. He cherishes the opportunity to
practice veterinary medicine alongside his father. His hobbies include golf, outdoor activities, and spending time with family (his beautiful wife Amanda, his fluffy cat Oliver and his pretty dog Macy). Dr. Brandon is the sitting Veterinarian for the Campbell County Local Board of Health.
Nick worked at Heineke Veterinary Hospital while in High School and College where he pursued a career in education. After 8 years teaching Mathematics at Highlands High School, he decided to
step away from education to rejoin the family business as the Practice Manager. Nick has a passion for customer service, social media, management systems, and employee development and plans to
use all of this here at Heineke Veterinary. Personally, he and his wife, Rebecca, have been married for 5 years and on March 28, 2016 they welcomed their twins, Elliott John and Eleanor Irene to their world. Nick very much looks forward to meeting all of our wonderful clients and their pets.
